Ann Marie Carroll passed away Oct. 24, 2013, at her Walkerville home with her husband and beloved canine companions at her bedside.

Ann was born Oct. 11, 1946, in Butte, the third child of Eugene and Lorraine (Fisher) Davis of Walkerville. She attended Sherman Grade School in Walkerville and was a graduate of Butte High School and Butte Business College. Following graduation from the business college, Ann moved to California, where she was employed by Max Factor Cosmetics and later transferred with the company to North Carolina. Following her successful 20-year career with Max Factor/Revlon, Ann returned to Walkerville and was employed for many years at the Copperhill Bar on south Excelsior Street in Butte.

Ann met her soulmate when she was introduced to Tom Carroll by mutual friends in September 1988. By her own admission, she didn’t really care too much for him at the time. Eventually, the Carroll charm won her over and they were married on Oct. 28, 1989.

She was a member of Mountain View/Trinity United Methodist Parish and participated on various church committees and the H.U. Club meals for the homeless ministry.

Ann was preceded in death by her father, Eugene; sister, Barbara; brother, Tommy; sister-in-law, Virginia Davis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and LaVerne Carroll; good friend and shopping companion, Mary F. (Birdie) Kelly; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by her cherished canine kids, Rusty, the terrier terror, and Charlie Brown, the 120-pound Lab-mix lap dog. Also surviving is her stepdaughter, Julie (Ken) Alexander of Spokane, Wash.; stepson, Dan (Kristi) Carroll of Butte; stepson, Jonathan (Megan Springer) of Butte; mother, Lorraine Davis of Walkerville; brother, Don (Nancy) Davis of Walkerville; brother, Wayne Davis of San Francisco; brother, Mike “Mick” (Dina) Davis of Great Falls; brother, Joe Davis of Torrance Calif.; and sister, Dawn (Jim) Murray of Walkerville, who was Ann’s constant companion and caregiver for the final weeks of her life. She is also survived by her niece and goddaughter, Alicia (Josh) Haynes of Great Falls; special nephews, Gene Rintala of Butte and Dennis Rintala of Walkerville; best friend and confidante, Linda Kehoe of Butte; 11 grandchildren (Ann loved being grandma); and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Other survivors include her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Len and Janet Carroll of Palatine, Texas, Jim and Celena Carroll of Conrad, Bob and Diana Carroll of Dillon and Ron Carroll also of Dillon.

To honor Ann’s final wishes, only private, family funeral services will be conducted and interment will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Pintler Pets Humane Society in Anaconda, or Highlands Hospice in Butte.
