Robert Mc Dermott

Robert Charles Mc-Dermott passed away Wed-nesday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Butte Sept. 28, 1945, to Phillip and Robina (Cook) Mc-Dermott and attended St. Mary’s Grade School and Butte High. Following after graduation, Mac enlisted in the U.S. Navy and then returned to Butte where he worked as a mechanic and crane operator at Stauffer Chemical for over 25 years.

Mac married Carol Krause on May 21, 1966, in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and she survives. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, John and Challise McDermott; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Greg Bracco and grandchildren, Nici Rosencrans and Marcus McDermott, all of Butte. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Mili McDermott of Vallejo, Calif., Tom and Dorothy McDermott of Warren, Ore., and Fred McDermott of Helena; sisters and brother-in-law, Gladys Morrison of Bozeman and Alice and Gene Lehto of Livingston as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mac is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Ted McDermott, and sisters, Violet Taylor and Lucy Wright.

Mac enjoyed all sports, but had a passion for football. He enjoyed fishing and car shows and especially a drive on a sunny day with the top down on his convertible.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home with Deacon Dan McGrath officiating.
