I only new him for 2 years when we attended Tech together, but we had some great times.  He was learning to play the drums and we formed a "garage band."  We started "building" a hot rod out of an old coupe in his family garage (38 Chevy if memory serves me)  We bought and salvaged it from someone using it to raise chickens...(of course we called it the "Chicken Coupe")  And like most Butte guys we spent a lot of time just driving around and getting in minor troubles.  He had a 55 or 56 chevy that we drove all over (once got it stuck crossing a stream swollen with  spring runoff.)  Still think of him and miss him...19 was way too young to go...

I grew up with Fred on the east side and went to school with him at the Jefferson grade school and at Butte High.  Was a long time ago.  We had a lot of fun together in our early years.
