In Memory Classmates

Dolly Walsh (Donovan)

Dolly Walsh (Donovan)

We lost another dear classmate.

Dolly was born in Butte on Nov. 24, 1945 and died in Tacoma Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014.

Beloved mother, grandmother, cherished sister and friend, Dorothy Lynn (Walsh) Donovan, 68, left Earth for Heaven on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014. Dolly was born in Butte on Nov. 24, 1945. She attended St. Lawrence and St. John’s Grade Schools and graduated from Butte High. An accomplished twirler, she enjoyed being a Butte High majorette as well as participating in the VFW Drum Corps in many Fourth of July parades. She attended Montana Tech and later graduated with a degree in interior design from Clover Park Technical College in Tacoma. Dolly married Dick Donovan; they moved to Tacoma where she remained for the rest of her life.

The couple had one child, Sean “Shamba” in 1973. Dolly worked as a professional interior designer for many years. She was especially proud to be a founding member of the Northwest Society of Interior Designers. She had impeccable taste and possessed an abundance of creativity expressed in her design work as well as in oil and watercolor painting, and creating exquisite greeting cards.

After many years of design work, Dolly transitioned into becoming a much respected and sought-out intuitive counselor. Known professionally as Dorothy Lynn, she helped innumerable people in this capacity. Dorothy Lynn was a deeply spiritual human being with friends from all walks of life and sought to see the good in every person she encountered. Kind and generous to all, she was quick to forgive and desired to create harmony among all. She was a gifted spiritual teacher who will be very missed by her family, friends, and clientele.

Dolly will be greeted at Heaven’s gate by her little brother, Ricky; her parents, Walter and Dorothy (Baravetto) Walsh; and her Uncle Joe Baravetto, who all preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Shamba and Mae-Lynn, granddaughters, Olivia Grace and Eloise Greer, all of Wilmington, Delaware; her brother, Walter of Helena; her three sisters, Rosalie Walsh (Alan Thompson) of Helena, Theresa Bayani (Arteen) of Denver, and Gayle George (Dan) of Portland; and numerous cousins, as well as her dog, Quan Yin, whom she cherished, and was very proud that Quan Yin is a Tibetan dog.

Godspeed, Dolly. Namaste, Dorothy Lynn. You have been a gift in our lives and an eloquent teacher — thank you for helping us grow in our spiritual path, teaching us new ways to pray, and for modeling the lessons of patience, kindness, generosity, and forgiveness. We will miss you deeply. We love you immensely.

Memorials can be made to the Dorothy Walsh Group Home, c/o BSW, 845 S. Wyoming St. Butte, 59701.
